16.06.08 CIN partner event: stepUP Showcase
Location : Friar Gate Studios, Ford Street, Derby, DE1 1EE
CIN has worked with Creative Partnerships and other partner organisations to bring you this exciting showcase of dance, spoken word, traditional Southern African music, visual arts and more.
The stepUp programme has given 5 culturally diverse local artists the chance to develop their art-forms, and helped them work with schools and other educational establishments.
The showcase is the climax of a special training and development programme managed by Creative Partnership for Culturally Diverse artists living in Derby. Other project partners are Derby City Council Arts & Events, Apples and Snakes, Mainstream Partnership, Derby Dance, Creative Launchpad, and QUAD.
The programme included mentoring by innovative and established artists from visual arts, theatre, dance, spoken word, music and performance including Jonzi D, Zena Edwards, Shane Shambu, Jane Sekonya, Shabz Shabazi and Lynne Hollingsworth.
The showcase will be on Tuesday 17 June 2008 from 5-7pm in Unit 9, Friargate Studios, Ford St, Derby, DE1 1EE. Admission is free. Snacks will be available.
