20.06.08 - following the Brian Mercer Residency at Fondazione Sem, Louise Plant continues to work with some of the finest marble in the world. Earlier this year her latest sculpture was exhibited at the headquarters of the Royal British Society of Sculptors, London and is currently in a group show at Clifford Chance, Canary Wharf. Later this year her sculpture 'Viaggio', a large work in corten steel, commissioned by Continuum Arts and Persimmon will be sited at Port Marine, Portishead.
2007 - Awarded Brian Mercer Scolarship, 'Fondazione Sem' by the Royal British Society of Sculptors. 2006 + 2007 - Mentee of Helaine Blumenfeld, VPRBS. 2006 - Invited to the International Sculpture Symposium in Volterra, Italy. 2004 - Global Stone Workshops, Italy. 2003 - Elected to membership of the Royal British Society of Sculptors. 2000 - Year of the Artist Award, Arts Council England. Commissioners include Continuum Arts with Persimmon, R.N.I.B., Cunard Shipping Company and Holiday Inn. Recently exhibited in Volterra and Italy, Cambridge, Derby and Nottingham. Represented by Tregoning Fine Arts.
