12.07.10 Arts Award Welcome Training for Cultural Organisation

Dates for the East Midlands: 28th January 2010, 9.30 am - 12.30 pm at The Hub in Sleaford , Lincolnshire
5th February 2010, 9.30 am - 12.30 pm at The Arts Council East Midlands Office, Nottingham
Application Rounds: 1 March, 1 July, 1 November 2010
Course fee: £90 per person

Becoming Arts Award Welcome can help you reach young audiences and education professionals. The Arts Award Welcome badge announces that your organisation supports the Arts Award and can help young people to achieve aspects of their award programme.

Arts Award Welcome organisations support young people to achieve their awards by offering expertise, information, opportunities or resources related to parts of the Arts Award:

- taking part
- enjoying and appreciating
- leadership/apprenticeship
- volunteering or work placement
- meeting arts professionals
- showcasing young people's work

Arts Award Welcome supports audience development and can extend your communication with schools, colleges and youth services. You will benefit from access to the Arts Award community of professionals who mentor and support young people and young people themselves via the following channels:

Arts Award website organisations are featured on the Arts Award Welcome Map, In My Region section and receive a rotation as the featured Arts
Award Welcome organisation in the Opportunities section

Arts Award e-bulletins Arts Award Welcome organisations are mentioned and or linked to in national ebulletins and may be featured in regional
e-specials by our Regional Development Teams

Arts Award social networking sites we tweet about all new Arts Award Welcome organisations and include features on Facebook

Regional networking events Arts Award Welcome organisations are invited to regional events where you can network with advisers and present your
offer

They provide Arts Award Welcome organisations with the Arts Award Welcome logo to feature in marketing materials, an Arts Award Welcome certificate
to display in a prominent place and tips for making the most of the scheme.


How to become Arts Award Welcome
1.  Book at least one member of staff onto half-day Arts Award Welcome training, ideally someone with responsibility for marketing or audience development. If you are an Arts Award adviser it is not essential that you attend Welcome training, however we do recommend that the person responsible for marketing in your organisation attends
