EM Media invests in the development of products, people, talent and businesses, which meet the organisation’s objectives. It distributes both Lottery funds (on behalf of the UK Film Council) and European Funds via direct investment alongside specific initiatives and schemes. Applications for direct investment are assessed on their strength of impact on the following regional priorities:

• Developing viable film and media businesses.
• Developing and promoting regional talent.
• Developing access and opportunity for the end user.

3.1 Skills Development Awards

EM Media will contribute to up 50% max £1000 for skills development of an individual or employee. This can be to attend a conference, festival, training course or mentoring that will help to improve your business and opportunities

3.2 Business Development Loans

EM Media can loan up to 50% max £5k to a start-up business or one that is changing direction. Loans typically have a 12 month repayment holiday and are repayable at an APR of 2 – 5%.

3.3 Research and Development

EM Media will invest up to 50% max £5k to research new markets and develop an innovative audio-visual media product.

3.4 Product Development and Production Investment

EM Media will invest up to 50% max £10k for individuals or £250k for companies to develop innovative media projects to able to market including games development, feature films and new media products. The loan is repayable or can be converted to equity in some cases.
