The Regional Venture Capital Fund has been set up with investment from the Department for Trade and Industry (DTI), local authority pension funds, The European Investment Fund and the Royal Bank of Scotland.
Funding from £100k to £500k with first time institutional investment limited to £250k (although the fund can invest up to a further £250k after a min 6 month period), objective to provide commercial returns to investors by investing in young, well-managed businesses with high growth potential.
The fund invests in young developing and existing businesses and will consider investing in start up, early stage and development capital opportunities, as well as management buy-out and buy-in situations.
