




Banks' Mill Studios was set up to retain Graduate level skills in the creative industries in the Derby area, by providing easy-in / easy-out workspace in studios, and business and professional development support, with a view to helping graduates earn a living off those skills, either as sole traders or businesses.
The University of Derby owns and manages Banks' Mill, which forms one of three business incubators. Each incubator actively encourages and supports emerging business, with Banks' Mill Studios specialsing in support for creative industries business practices, such as applied art, fine art and designer / makers. As well as providing workspace, the University of Derby provides business support activity including one-to-one advice, workshops, seminars and bi-annual Open Studios.
The University operates a similar "incubator for graduates" at Network House in Derby. Network House speacialises in support for creative businesses, such as ICT, new media and design led businesses.
Banks' Mill has ramp access to the ground floor.
