Salary: Competitive / Negotiable dependant on experience & portfolio
Type: 6 month contract initially with a view to permanent

Due to business growth, we require an Experienced Web Designer to be our ‘in-house HTML & CSS expert’. As the successful candidate, you must have demonstrable experience gained within a creative design environment.
Alight are a creative design agency based in Nottingham City Centre. We are a well established, hardworking yet fun loving creative bunch! We have an impressive client portfolio and exceptionally high standards and results. This is a varied and interesting role for a passionate candidate to really get their teeth stuck into. You will be involved with exciting and varied projects including designing and implementing high-quality, Pixel perfect, next-Generation, graphical user interfaces and merging the work with .NET Developers.
As our ‘in-house HTML & CSS expert’ you will have responsibility for the look and feel of the end product. You will keep a close eye on web design trends and have plenty of inspirational ideas of your own. To be considered for this role, we would like to see a candidate who is detail-oriented and extraordinarily passionate about problem-solving. Like the rest of us here at Alight, you are a creative and communicative person who is comfortable working as part of a team. You will work closely with the project management team to ensure our client’s requirements and deadlines are met.
To be considered for this role you must have extensive experience of the following:
Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator
Hand coding HTML
Advanced CSS skills
Javascript expert
Pixel perfect eye with highly polished standards
Good knowledge of W3C & Accessibility
Additional desirable Skills are:
Flash & Actionscript
Ajax
ASP.NET
Knowledge of SEO
Key competencies to this role are:
• Excellent Technical Skills
• Good understanding of a commercial environment
• Problem Solving
• Team Working and communication
• Creative ability and flair
• Ability to deliver against detailed specifications
• Ability to deliver against tight deadlines
Having a good sense of humour would be a distinct advantage. Plus excellent professional, inter-personal and time keeping skills are essential.
