19.10.11 Front-end Web developer/ designer, Leicester - NSC Creative
NSC Creative requires an experienced front-end web developer/designer to join the team and work on several online projects. The focus is on delivering an awesome new website for the National Space Centre visitor attraction.
Working within an established creative team the candidate will be expected to take the lead role in identifying the needs of the website projects from a user interface, creative and brand perspective. They will generate and prototype design ideas for testing and approval. They will determine suitable web standards that should be adhered to and identify an appropriate content management system to build the sites on. The best ideas will be implemented to a high creative and technical standard.
This will be done under the direction of the Head of NSC Creative and by working closely with the relevant people from the National Space Centre team such as the Head of Marketing and Space Centre General Manager.
A solid understanding of effective social media integration is a priority. Compatibility requirements with smart phones and emerging devices is essential. All sites must be delivered on top of an industry standard content-management system.
Candidates with strengths towards either coding or design will be considered.
Requirements
* Excellent interface, design and layout skills
* Excellent coding skills
* Excellent working knowledge of industry standard software
* An obsession with emerging web technologies
* Meticulous attention to detail
* A passion for all things design and techy
* Work effectively as part of a small team
* Understanding of efficient collaborative workflow techniques
* Ability to interact with clients effectively
* Manage own work-load and deadlines
Responsibilities
* Deliver several websites to a high quality within a defined time-scale.
Candidates should have experience in the following:
* Adobe CS
* CSS/XHTML
* HTML5
* JavaScript
* PHP
* CMS
* Facebook/Twitter integration
4 month contract (dependant on start date) with potential for future work.
Required to work on-site in Leicester.
Salary is dependent on experience.
